RACE DATES: NOV. 14/15, ‘09 DEC. 12/13, ‘09 JAN. 9/10, ‘10 FEB. 13/14, ‘10 CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS-WINNERS RACE: FEB 28, 2010
All yachts that meet PHRF minimum requirements are invited to compete in one or both series of races to be held on the Olympic Circle off Berkeley. Deep draft yachts are advised that new courses have been added. Marks AOC and HOC are permanently gone. The BYC guest dock will be available to all entrants. Race results will be posted at BYC and free appetizers will be available after each race. RULES AND SERIES: The regatta will be governed by The Racing Rules of Sailing, 2009-2012, the prescriptions of USSailing, the Rules or decisions of each class concerned, and by the Sailing Instructions and any amendments thereto. There will be two, independent series - Saturday’s and Sunday’s. There will be no throw-outs. DIVISIONS: For each series, a minimum of 5 yachts and a consensus among them regarding applicable One-design class rules are needed to form a One-design division. Non One-design yachts will be assigned to an appropriate PHRF division. The fleets will be divided into divisions based on entries received by November 9, 2009. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS: The SI’s will be available on line by late Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009. (See www.berkeleyyc.org. START LOCATION AND TIME: The warning each day will be at 1155 at Olympic Circle buoy “XOC”. PHRF: In order to be scored under PHRF, each yacht must have a current Northern California PHRF certificate on file in the YRA office. PHRF applications are available from YRA – www.yra.org or (415) 771-9500. WaiverThe undersigned certifies that the above yacht meets the USCG minimum requirements and agrees to hold the Berkeley Yacht Club and its agents harmless from any claims for damage or injury to boat or crew as a result of participation in this regatta.
